Rotary Club Book Distribution
The Rotary Club of Amarillo distributed about 150 books on January 23rd to kindergartners at Glenwood, Wills and Hamlet elementary schools. This project is a joint Rotary project with the West, East and South Amarillo clubs. These three clubs applied for a district simplified grant to fund the books. Each book is personalized with the child's name and the names of two friends, their school and their teachers. The title of the book this year is “School is Fun.”
For about three hours John Kanelis, Pam Rushing, Mary Emeny, Wes Knapp, Lea Ann Fulton, Basil Walker and Dick Weddington delivered the books to at risk kids in these schools. Thank you all for Service Above Self.
